Christmas at Thomas Knight Care Home was busy, lively, and full of moments that really mattered to our residents.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we were pleased to welcome several visiting choirs, including a lovely visit from Bede Academy, whose singing was enjoyed across the home.

Residents also enjoyed trips out around Blyth to see the Christmas decorations and lights.

Entertainment was another highlight of the season, with a visit from Elvis proving especially popular and bringing lots of smiles, laughter, and singing along.

Each floor threw its own Christmas party, with celebrations specially designed to suit the needs and preferences of its residents.

  • Auguste Community – our top floor supporting people living with dementia or related syndromes.
  • Trinity Retreat – middle floor providing care for residents with a mix of needs, including dementia and frailty.
  • Harmony Meadows – our ground floor specialising in general nursing care.

There were plenty of hands-on activities throughout December, including Christmas crafts, dressing up, and festive games, giving residents the chance to get involved in their own way.

Our Christmas Fair was a real success, raising over £800 for the residents’ fund. This money will go directly towards future activities and outings. A big thank you to everyone who donated, attended, or helped behind the scenes.

Celebrations didn’t stop at Christmas, with residents also welcoming the New Year together, marking the occasion with music, refreshments, and merriment.

Thank you to our staff, families, and local community for helping to make Christmas and New Year at Thomas Knight Care Home such a positive and memorable time for our residents.
